Hi all,

I hired a 'professional' to stain my deck. I had gotten the recommendation from this site to get the twp1500 series stain- I LOVE the color, love the stain. But the people who applied it totally screwed it up and left stain to pool on the deck and now it is a sticky, gross mess. I am beyond furious as I had to buy ANOTHER 5 gallons of stain because they wasted so much spraying down my deck instead of using a stain pad like I asked them to.  They got it EVERYWHERE- my siding, my bushes, plants, and it looks terrible.

My question is, how do I remove the pooled stain? Also, am I totally screwed now that the stain has dried that I can't do another coat on top of it since it's not "wet on wet"?  I'm so frustrated.

Thanks,

Erin

You cannot just remove the excess stain. You would have to strip and start over. Might be best to just leave it as is and start over in a year or two.
