The pressure treated deck and railings of our new 19 year old house have probably not been treated in 10 years. Horizontals are pretty devoid of anything, other than a few faint brown stains from a prior sloppy job. Had wanted to stain the deck gray with white railings, but after reading all your reviews and posts, will use Defy Extreme light walnut to minimize old stains. My question is - should I paint or stain railings and some lattice white....or just stick with Defy light walnut on all surfaces, given the age and average condition of the deck?
Nothing wrong with using a solid stain on verticals if you are looking for a two toned deck.
