In our area(Bend, OR.), our typical summer is 3 months, average fall, long winter, short spring. We are getting Douglas Fir delivered this week(early July). This is a common wood used here and I have not seen many articles using this wood. Do we just install(no pre-treating), then let it weather until Fall? I am worried that our harsh winter might damage the wood. Thank you for your suggestions.
