What stain would be best for #2 Douglas Fir dimensional type 2" x 6" lumber for decking? Also (a little off topic) but why is Douglas Fir usually NOT used for decking? Much cheaper than redwood or cedar or any of the others. Is it "stainability", rotting issues, warping, looks??
THANKS

Douglas fir is not naturally resistant to rotting. If it is treated wood then you should be fine. Try TWP stains.
