Hi, new to the site. I'm looking for recommendations for a good semi-transparent stain for my deck that performs well in Central Mass. I'm in the process of removing Cabot's SPF from my deck. It's a bear. Started peeling after the first year, but is difficult to remove. I'm currently belt-sanding my deck to get the stuff off. I see that TWP,Defy,& Armstrong all get good reviews on this site but are only available for sale on the web. Why? Has anybody had experience with these products in New England? Or can you recommend another product? Please don't tell me any Cabot product because one of their 1-800 folks told me Deck Brightener would do the trick.

TWP and Defy are old throughout the country. AC is a west coast stain that has limited stores on this side of the country. I would look at the TWP 1500 once you get it all off. Clean and brighten the wood after the sanding.
