Live near New Orleans, Louisiana. Have a covered front porch along the front of the house that has full sun and shade at different times of the day. The porch is tongue & groove (oak). It is about 8 years old. When we first put it down we were told to use oil base paint by Benjamin Moore and we did. Now it has peeled up. We have just sanded it down to the bare wood. I would like to know what is the best stain (water or oil based) to used on the tongue & groove. I have research your site and am leaning toward the TWP 100 but not sure if that is what we need. I am looking for something that will protect the wood from outside elements as well as a stain that would show the natural wood finish in a wood tone color. Also, since the porch has weathered, do we still need to use the cleaner and brightener before we put any stain down. Greatly appreciate your reviews, your site and your help. Thanks.

The correct product would be the TWP 100 Series for this. Clean and brighten the wood for the final prep before applying.
