Greetings

I get the general process:

1. Clean

2. Brighten

3. Wait 48+ hours

4. Stain

However,  between steps 3&4 if you have a lot of trees (like we do) and stuff falls down onto the deck or you get dust on the deck (light probably). Do you need to blow the deck/give it a light wash and dry before staining? Do you just sweep the deck and stain? I've not seen an answer to this part of the process.

Any help would be much appreciated, as I'm about to start steps 1&2 this weekend 🙂

Blow off is best with a leaf blower.

So I just completed step 1 of  the cleaning. I didn't do the brightener as yet as I thought there was still a bit of gray (and I ran out of time). Seeing the deck after its dried I just wanted to confirm if what I'm seeing is what's referred to as 'fuzzies' or if its something else.

I've attached a few photos.

Assuming the white patches are 'fuzzies' I'm looking at doing the following:

1. Apply cleaner again (to rid any of any additional gray)

2. Brightener

3. Left dry for a day

4. Buff with white pad, then wait another day

5. Stain

Any advice, greatly appreciated.

White spots around the knots is normal. I do not see that much of the wood fuzzies. Your steps are fine though.
