We are just in the process of finishing the stripping of our cedar siding using an oxygen cleaner but the weather is turning against us (we are in the Adirondacks) and the drought has also caused water issues with our well water supply. Consequently, our contractor plans on waiting with the neutralizing and brightener application and restaining with TWP until the spring. Will this be OK? We need some reassurance because the stripping of the old, moldy stain was a major undertaking. If waiting will jeopardize the end result we will try to push the contractor into the neutralizing this season despite the above issues.

You will need to reclean and then brighten in the Spring for the prep. It will be fine if you do.

Thanks for the reply. It was reassuring. We had successfully used Behrs all in one cleaner and brightener which has oxalic acid to neutralize after we cleaned off the old stain and mold with the oxygen cleaner on other parts of the house. Will that suffice to reclean and brighten the whole house again in the spring or will we need to redo the oxygen cleaner again?

Great to hear. Thanks again for all your help and advice. TWP has worked out very well for us and a neighbor so far. No wearing off, darkening or mold issues on our cedar sided well house located in a wooded area after 3 years.
