I am starting prep work to sand off Cabots solid stain from my large deck. The Cabots only lasted a couple of years before starting to peel up.

How deep do I need to countersink the nail heads to prevent damage to the sander?

Thanks,
Pete

Not sure on that but I would guess 1/8 to 1/4 inch below the wood surface? You will not damage the sander but you will tear up your sanding paper if not counter sunk.
