North Central Wisconsin here and a rookie cleaning/prepping/staining a deck. Thank you for the resources on this website, I have found them immensely helpful. Finished prep on my deck yesterday with brightener. The deck gets sun during the morning into early afternoon. Checked the weather forecast today and found out we are likely to have freezing temperatures for the next few nights and then some rain (rookie mistake). Looking like 9 days from now is the soonest I can get stain down weather/temperature wise. Will the deck still be stain ready at that point? How long can I leave the prepped deck without stain before I will need to do prep again? Thank you again for your help!
You should be fine if you can stain withing 15 days or so of prep.
I am in the same predicament.i just finished prepping my cedar fence with RAD stripper & brighter and letting the fence dry for 48 hrs before the staining process. It rained one day after, so waiting for another 48 hrs to completely dry before starting again, if the weather does not allow me to stain and i go beyond the 15 days or more, can i prep again with the brightner which i have a 2lb bag or just stain the fence.
Correct.
