Deck Stain Questions and Answers

I stained my new cedar deck 3 days ago and it is still a bit sticky when I walk on it. I suspect I applied too much stain (Armstrong Clark - semi-transparent). What should I do now? I saw some comments online that you can either put another coat of stain and wipe it off after 10 minutes or use mineral spirits to remove excess stain. Not sure which is a better approach. Can someone help please!!! Thanks a lot.
