I am in the process of stripping my deck with Behr Stripper #64 as this is what was available to me prior to visiting your site. So far so good with Behr. Great site by the way 😛 . My question is this my deck is 15yo and is fairly weathered with splintering and cracking. prior to viewing your site i planned to use Behr Solid Color on the deck to help fill some splintering and voids. Semi Trans on the railings. I am in NJ and my deck is in the sun all day. any suggestions where I can purchase a better product locally (08016) would be greatly appreciated. I don't like purchasing site unseen ie. Online and need something to help fill the splintered area's ( Not Deck Restore). I have also considered renting a hardwood floor sander and trying to sand the deck smooth again.

Thanks Mike in NJ.

Mike, any solid stain should work. We like Flood's solid stains as they seem to penetrate better. I would look for that locally.

So you don't think sanding the deck would be effective? I was going to use either an 18'' floor orbital with 36 grit or a rotary type floor sander also with 36 grit.

You can do that if you want. It would smooth the surface some.
