New Deck in Virginia Beach

Hello, I'm facing information overload and would appreciate some advice.

We have a new deck (1 week old) in Virginia Beach that gets full sun 12hrs a day or so.

I've never had a deck before and would appreciate a recommendation on a good stain to use. From reading the info on this site I understand some prep work is required and that a colored stain protects against UV damage better so we're not opposed to that...we'd prefer a cedar color stain.
