Need advice for staining redwood deck

Located in Northern California in an area that is dry and hot in the summer and cool and somewhat rainy in the winter.  Some areas of the deck get hit hard by the sun in the summer, while others are in the shade.  I am nearly finished sanding off the previous finish (deck was pretty rough as well).  Not sure exactly what it was (you can still see it on the near side of the deck).  I was planning to just use Behr, until I read this website.  I wanted to know if there is a recommended stain for this redwood deck.  Also, before my decision to stay away from Behr stain, I purchased some Behr cleaner.  Is this an ok product, or should I return it and use something else?  Thanks.
