I stripped the deck with Restore-a-deck back in September and gave it a cleaning this weekend with restore-a-deck. I am h=going to use the brightener How do you think it looks? There are some small areas that were very hard to get the stain off as you can see on the spindles. Should I sand it off? Also, how long should I wait to stain after I apply the brightener and wash it off? Should I go with a semi trans or semi solid? Thanks a lot for all the help.

For the most part it loos good to go.

Either sand it off the stain on the rails or blend with the new stain. Blending would be easier. Maybe Armstrong Clark in the Rustic Brown or the Woodland Brown Semi-solid.

What color were you shooting for?

my wife likes the semi trans. she thinks the semi solid looks more like a painted look but im trying to tell her that any prior stain left on will show through the semi trans

As long as the new stain is the same color or slightly darker then it should blend.
