Did I prep correctly?

I live in Minnesota (Twin Cities) and just used Restore-A-Deck cleaner and brightener. The cedar deck is about a year and a half old. After completing, the wood presented with gray/silver streaks and spots. When wet, it just rained, the wood looks amazing and as I imagine it'll look with the stain. 

Is this coloring normal and will it affect the stain?
