Just wondering if anyone could give me some advice on my epic fail of a deck.
We purchased Sico semi transparent deck stain in Walnut brown. Our deck is 2 years old and made of treated wood. The sales person told us this was a great stain to use and to apply with a roller and then go over it to do the spaces between the boards with a brush and then to also go over the entire board with a brush.
We did this on the weekend and our deck looks like a pile of crap. The centers of the boards look awesome but the outsides look very dark and almost like paint. I'm thinking it's because it dried faster than it could soak it in (if thats' possible).
We're trying to decide if we can somehow salvage it by putting on another coat, having the whole board darker than we wanted and hoping it'll lighten in the sun over time or if we have to do something else.
Admittedly we are absolutely the worse stain appliers in the history of the world and would love some advice on what we can do.
Thank you in advance!
If you apply more than you will have all look even but ti will look like a paint. At this point it is your easiest option as the other is to remove all and start over.
