Hello,
I am plan to clean and stain my roof deck within the next few weeks. I live in Chicago and my deck goes through some extreme cold weather during the winter (snow, etc.). And in the summer it can get pretty hot up there. What stain would you recommend for a Chicago Roof Deck? I plan to use the Restore-A Deck 2 step cleaning kit to prep the deck. Below is a little info on my Deck:
-Deck Age: 2.5 years old
-The Deck has never Been Sealed
-Constructed from Pressure Treated Wood
-Deck Type: Roof Deck
-Full Sun
-Size: 500 SF
I am looking for something that is easy to apply. Will last at least 2 to 3 years before reapplication is needed. Will withstand the winter snow and will not peel...
What do you recommend?
Try the TWP 1500 Series or the Armstrong Clark in a semi-transparent color. Please post picture when done!
UPDATE:
I finished staining my decks... I used the Restore-A-Deck Cleaner and Brighter Kit and I stianed it with the recommended TWP 1500 Dark Oak Stain/Sealer. Please see the results in the pics below:

I think you did a great job! Very nice even coverage. I like the color as well. With that full sun you will need a darker color like the 1503 for UV protection. I would apply a light coat to the floor/horizontals only on 18-24 months and redo the entire deck in 3-4 years.
I'm SO glad you posted these pics because I was debating between "dark oak" and another color, but was afraid it would be too dark. In seeing these pics, I think it's perfect and it will prevent me from having to order samples. Thanks!
