Let's see if I can post a picture here...

My first post here, hope it works. Anyway, there are seven floor boards that remained mildewed after Restore-A-Deck, pressure washing and brightener. I was intending to stain last Friday, 8-22-14, but found that after drying for four days, these 7 boards were still wet, and were still moldy. So I started over, this time using 50/50 bleach/water with TSP, while scrubbing with course Scotch-bright.

I followed that up with a final rinse with RAD step 2 brightener, and allowed that to dry without rinsing.

Today, Tuesday 8-26, the boards in question are still damp, while the rest of the floor is quite dry. I can see that as they dry, the color is becoming more like the rest of the boards.

My question - is it ok to leave the brightener on? Or should I rinse it off?

Wow that is a lot of mold! You can leave the brightener on without rinsing.

Here is the result 2 days after the bleach/TSP treatment. I waited a total of 7 days before staining, which was yesterday. I meant to take one last picture before staining, but forgot. This board was almost totally mold free, but still had a greenish cast. I think that the mold had been killed, even though it still had a funny look to it.

Time will tell...
