You should install the wood, let weather for 4 months, clean and brighten, then stain for the new deck as it is smooth wood. The "Rough Sawn" wood can be stained right away.]]></content:encoded>

                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[We are building our retirement home in Northern Georgia and we have selected a 1 x 12 White Pine "Rough Sawn" Siding w/ Chinking Groove. We would like a Dark Oak or Dark Walnut color. <br />
	<br />
	Please advise on the proper procedure to stain the new wood siding and the best stain for this material.  <br />
	<br />
	The Prow front of the home will have a SE exposure and the right side will have a Southern exposure.  There will be a large covered deck on the right side so much of the siding will not be exposed to direct sunlight.<br />

A paint contractor was suggesting I use Sherwin Williams Deckscapes, but after review of rankings, I'm considering TPW 1500 stain.  Would TPW 1500 be the best chaise for white cedar? Would natural on cedar tone be recommneded?  Any other recommnedation for oil based stain for white cedar siding?  I live in Mass.]]></content:encoded>
