Clyde, you are doing everything correctly. Waiting will not harm the wood.

I would clean and brighten the wood for the prep. I would not sand. Look at Armstrong Clark decking stain for this.

Yes you can use the TWP 1500 now after prepping with the Gemini Restore Kit.

We have yet to test the SunProof or use it. Most likely you will need to strip it off and start over.
