I am planning to strip and stain the deck this year. Can somebody identify the type of stain it is?

I think it is solid. If it is indeed solid what is the best stripper to use?

I was trying to help a friend with stripping his deck. His deck also had a solid stain (maybe paint) and we used Sherman Williams stripper and it did not work AT ALL.

Also any advise on new stain would be appreciate. Is transparent better than semi transparent or solid. Which one is better?

Thanks
