Thanks for the quick response. </p><p>One last question.  If I used an oil based stain two years ago, do I have to strip off the old stain to reapply a new stain by a different company?  I used Cabot and plan on now using TWP 1500.  I know some areas won't look great but ....</p><p> </p><p> </p>]]></content:encoded>

                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The redwood slats and rails on my decks need to be redone and I'm hoping for some advice.  They were last coated two years ago with a Cabot oil based semitransparent stain.  I live on the ocean so we get lots of salt, wind, sun and fog.  Stains seem to last between 2-4 years.</p><p>My first question is about stripping the slats.  I was going to use your recommendations for Restore A Deck-using a firm nylon brush to apply- but local ordinances prevent me from using a pressure washer to clean off the stripper.  Will the garden hose work despite the lower pressure?  </p><p>Do you have any suggestions?</p><p> 442,443</p>]]></content:encoded>
