A bit different but then similar. I have an old truck that has a wood bed. I'm ready to replace all the wood and looking to what would be the best I can seal the wood with. Explosed the the elements YES. Haul stuff around so it would be like a deck with furniture and food traffic. I've read places where the best is old exterior latex paint, but being around a bit, that sounds like a recipe for pealing. One would think, I would need deep penetrating with good UV protection, that can stand up to abrasion. Which is close to what a deck must also have.
Transparent, semi, or solid is not a major concern.
