I am looking to stain an old deck on the house I just bought in IL. The current stain is non-existant in most places and the deck is fairly worn (not to the point where I think I need to replace boards). My preference is a solid stain due to the age of the deck even though it seems like that is mostly frowned upon here.

That being said, I think Flood is typically suggested, but Flood products are harder and harder to find at local stores so I'm looking for alternatives that I can buy at some store (e.g. home depot, lowes, or anything within 5 miles). I am willing to consider semi-solid if it's a huge deal.

Also, how long should I wait after a rain before staining? Like if it rains friday afternoon, can I stain Saturday morning?
