Hi,

I applied my first coat of Cabbot's semi-transparent stain to a very weathered deck 4 days ago. It rained today and I can see the effects of the sun on my coat. it was a hot, sunny day and you can see in the picture how much different the shaded areas (foreground and railing shadows) look from the areas in full sun. It looks to my untrained eye that the sun areas are actually beading more but I'm not sure if that's true.

Any opinions on if the sun or shade areas worked better? Also, should I apply a second coat to even this out?

Thank you!

You might need to but by adding more, it will not look semi-transparent but more of a semi-solid.

Seems it cured faster in the sunny area. Strange
