You will need to strip it all off at some point. At this point just finish with the Super Deck. Being vertical wood it will not turn dark/black as quickly as a horizontal deck surface. You should be good for a couple of years. Strip and brighten when it starts to discolor and switch brands at that point.

We installed a new cedar fence in late August and I fear I may have made a terrible mistake, I have partially stained with SuperDeck.

About 175 feet with a top cap and trim. 

I have stained about 2/3 of the fence with SuperDeck Transparent in Natural. Then I saw all the reviews on this site, to say I was sick, is an understatement. That being said, I need to finish what I have started. I got about 2/3 finished then it snowed, now the snow is gone and the temps warming up. I'm going to finish on Friday-Sunday. I really just want to seal and protect the wood. I have a couple of different thoughts...

1. Finish with the SuperDeck, and then in the spring come back and re-stain with Armstrong or TWP. To keep the fence from turning too black. If I do this, do I have to strip off the SuperDeck?

2. Finish one side with the SuperDeck, but use Armstrong (or something similar) on the north facing side, that I can't see. 

3. The fence is in shade in places and lots of full sun.
