The upper portion of the front of my home is rough cedar lap. Other parts include rough sawn plywood and cedar trim. I want to re-stain all with something that will last more than 2 or 3 years. Not worried about any grain showing through. Is it possible to use a semi-solid or solid stain on this type of wood and get 6 or more years before I would need to redo. Have done all my own work, but at nearly 80, this will probably be my last time up the ladder.
