I have a question about the pergola that sits above the deck. It is also pressure treated pine, 2×6’s that are aligned vertically (board faces to the side not up), gets partial sun in the afternoon, is about 8 years old, and is in good shape. It has not been stained but I have used Eco Wood Treatment as a preservative. If I wanted to use the extreme wood stain on the pergola, do I have to use a deck stripper or can I get by with deck wash and brightener?
