Has anyone tried partially sealing (with a thin coat of what will be used to do the later sealing) board ends during weathering (acclimation)? The goal would be to prevent quick saturation by rain and maybe promote a more even acclimation.

Regardless of sealing board ends, does it make sense to monitor EMC (Equilibrium Moisture Content) with a decent moisture meter while acclimation is occurring? This way we could know if acclimation is done in two weeks, one month, or one year. I'm sure you know that careful hardwood floor guys do this to determine when the boards are ready to install.

Thank you for any help.
