I am in the process of redoing my deck whish located in Vancouver, BC. We get a lot of rain here and the rain and dampness has caused the Behr paint to lift and peel from the PT wood decking. To add to the problem, it is a low lying deck (maybe 2 feet) so the water under the deck gets as water vapor during spring time causing the PT boards to remain damp for an extended period of time. I sanded the deck this weekend and removed about 90 -95% of the Behr acrylic paint. I am looking stain my deck and was wondering if I could some help with the following questions:

1. Would Defy semi-transparent stain work for my low lying deck or is there a better alternative? Maybe something that allows the wood to breadth?

2. I am leaning towards Defy semi-transparent because it comes in gray because the sides of my deck and my window trim are painted cape code gray. Are there alternative recommended stains that come in gray?

3. Given that my deck was previously painted, would I get better visual product with a semi-solid stain especially since it is a older deck?

Thanks
