Prep with a cleaner and wood brightener. Stain with one of these brands.

One year old ipe deck

Hello, I have a one year old ipe deck that I want to stain. My contractor stained it the first time. I’m not sure what product he used. Do I just clean and then stain? Or do I need to use a brightener also? Also some of the deck is beside a swimming pool. What do you suggest for best water repellant? Pic here: https://imgur.com/WL9S55X Thanks!!!
