                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>New deck boards were just installed, and I'm a newbie to deck staining/preservation (previous decking was beyond repair when we moved in).</p>
<p>The new deck board stamps indicate kiln dried heat treated southern yellow pine (I think that's right, pic added) and the tags indicate Ecolife EL2 treatment (pic also added).  I'm in Virginia and get a good amount of direct sun on the deck.  I've read a lot of differing recommendations on how long to wait before sealing.  Wondering what this forum's advice is for:</p>
<p>1. How long to wait?</p>
<p>2. I prefer to use a clear/transparent sealant, what product(s) of this type are recommended?</p>
