I'm in the process of stripping all the old stuff off.  It's very labor intensive, but I think I will be able to get to bare wood (eventually). 

If I can, we would like to use a semi-transparent stain.  Is there one of those that can go on wet wood?

Try Flood Solid stains. Unfortunately, we do not know of any solid stains that can be applied on damp wood.

It's late in the season.  I want to get my deck stained before winter (when the snow sits on the wood, melts, but doesn't dry completely.  Then might freeze again, or more snow on top to melt again later.  Very wet conditions.

Main question:  What stain can I apply to wet wood?  I prefer water based if possible.

State: Wisconsin

Date:  First week in October, scattered showers each day for the next week, getting close to winter, overnight lows around 40-50 degrees.543

Shade: Mostly shaded all day

Wood type:  Not sure (see pics)

Mold/Mildew:  some mildew due to neglect.  Not a big concern.

Main Issues with Previous stains:  a thick paint type stain that is now peeling in spots, exposing bare wood.
