Also, what brand stain would you recommend and how many coats? And does a new deck really need to be cleaned or can I just simply hose it off?

Deck Details:

1. Minneapolis, MN (Northwest facing deck)
2. Half the deck gets full sun in the mid-afternoon and early evening hours; the other half is a screened in deck/porch so it's completely covered with a roof.
3. Red Cedar
4. No mold or mildew issues
