Did a quick test on an end scrap. Bad cell phone pic, but gives a decent idea. I think it is ever so slightly more golden than it appears in the pic, but it just depends on the lighting. Looks good, so now I'm just waiting a bit for the wood to season.

You can use TWP 1500 on Ash.

So I have a large ladder made of ash that should see a fair amount of use once it's up. Currently leaning towards ordering a gallon of TWP 1500. Any reason to go a different route for the ash? It does have really porous grain, so it crossed my mind that perhaps a film-forming type finish sealing that up wouldn't be a bad thing. I really don't want the possibility of peeling in the future though.

Also, if the 1500 is the way to go, we want to keep the wood as light as possible to contrast the house. Is the "natural" finish going to be the lightest? Hard to trust the thumbnail photos.

and to throw a stick in the spokes one retailer's listing says "clear" which I can't even find listed on the twp site.
