I recently moved into a home in northern Illinois with a cedar deck (approximately 15 years old). The deck receives full sun and has southern exposure. The deck gets hit hard by weather. A solid color stain (I believe a Sherwin Williams product) was previously used on the deck. Within the last couple of weeks the deck has been stripped and power washed and majority (but not all) of the previous solid stain has been removed. As part of this process, I have also replaced about a quarter of the boards due to cracking/rotting. I feel that a solid stain would be best to use again because of the mix of old boards and new boards. Any advice on which products to look at?
