when is the best time of year to oil stain a deck? I live in north Carolina with hot humid weather coming soon , what is the best humity that stain will dry and not be Sticky

You cannot apply more than 2 coats and you cannot create a distressed look with deck stains. You also cannot mix different brand and different types of stains into your application. What you want to do is not possible. Sorry.

@administrator,So based on my Questions you fill the 2 stains can overlap each other and should I let the first coat dry before 2nd and 3rd or should i apply over stain that is still wet and blend in? another thought was to apply oil based stain then a second and 3rd coat of oil based paint to get the Stress look I'm looking for. Do you know how Stains and paint interact with each other? Thank you

Try TWP 100 Series or Armstrong Clark Stains for this deck. Both are excellent penetrating oil-based semi-transparent stains.

So I am doing a complete deck Restoration on a 20 year old neglected deck. I live in North Carolina I have a 350 sq foot Deck that receives Moring sun and Afternoon Shade, Summer months are hot and Humid! My choice of Stain Would be oil Based Semi Transparent. Our Backyard has a Country Cottage Theme That we Just Love! Because of this I want to be Unique and Creative on my Stain and Colors. Typically you see the Same Old deck Over and Over.. I Tore down the wood Blasster
