1.Deck Location State: Southern California
2.Full Sun, Partial Shade, Full Shade: Full Sun
3.Wood Type: Ipe installed about one year ago
4.Mold or Mildew Issues: not much and not my concern at this point
5.Reason for Previous Stain Failure: we have wood drip stains

We recently installed vertical boards of Ipe as our deck siding (concrete on the floor) and I did a lot of research to try and get the very best product. We wound up using Armstrong Clark semi-transparent stain for hardwoods. We applied one coat before installing and then several months later applied a second coat which I now realize was too much (although all the excess was wiped off both times.) The problem is that after spraying our deck off several times and also after some rain this last Spring, we now see drip stains where the oil has come off somewhat with the water that has dripped down the sides leaving a markedly lighter drip stain on the Ipe. We just now pressure washed all the Ipe wood and it's much better but not completely gone. Now, I'm wondering what to do next. I'm afraid to put more oil on it because I don't want to have the same thing happen again. However, the wood is also pretty bare now that it's been pressure washed so I think it might need some protection (plus I like the look better when it's been oiled). Also, the rain will come in a couple of months. Please advise how to proceed (what's the best product that won't drip off with water and when to apply it.) Also any advise as to how to remove the remainder of the drip stains would be appreciated.

The photos attached are before we pressure washed so it is better now (but not perfect.)

Thanks!
