Sounds dubious as all hell, but it worked as promised. it went on to our rough pine barnboard siding nicely and still looks reasonably good now, without ever having been touched since. I'd like to recoat it, but the product seems to have disappeared from the market. I got to wonder why, it seemed to offer the best of both worlds, and was head an shoulders above the nasty acrylic "stains" they sell now that go on as a layer and are prone to peeling.
