I have Alaskan yellow cedar siding that has been on my house for 43 years. The siding has turned dark gray from UV damage, old stain, mold or whatever. So I have sanded the cedar siding with 40 grit and then 80 grit to get to clean wood and get the siding boards nice and flat.

I'm in the Seattle area and some sides of the house see some direct sun and also see some driving rain in the winter.

Ive used the Defy Extreme stain recently on my deck (treated hemlock) and like it so far. So after my extensive sanding, should I use Defy Extreme on my old cedar siding or should I go with the Defy stain thats specifically for cedar and hardwoods?

THanks!
