We are trying to be as informed as possible since this getaway has been anything but since we got it! But, it would be a crime to obsure the beauty of the wood siding with a paint or solid stain.

What would you recommend as a stain/UV protector that might hold up better and require just a simple soap and water cleaning prior to reapplication when needed. Or is there nothing so simple?
